TAPPI Foundation Solidifies Talent Pipeline with the TAPPI-PIMA Student Summit

The 2023 TAPPI-PIMA Student Summit is taking place in-person for the first time in three years, January 13-16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Student Summit brings together in one venue engineering students interested in pulp, paper, packaging and converting industry careers with hiring companies for three days of activities and career discussions. The annual event typically draws a diverse group of 200-plus students and approximately 20 sponsoring companies from multiple industry segments.

TAPPI-PIMA Student Summit helps bridge the talent pipeline gap by seamlessly connecting engineering students with professionals in its allied industries. It also provides an opportunity for incoming young professionals to share ideas with company representatives on how to improve benefits and work environments to help make careers in the industry more appealing for the next generation.

Many interviewed students leave the event with offers and opportunities for internships, co-ops, and full-time employment. At the same time, interviewing and sponsoring companies gain insights on the next generation’s work environment needs and career outlook.

This event is made possible through the financial support of the TAPPI Foundation, TAPPI’s student-oriented philanthropic group. The TAPPI Foundation supports TAPPI’s mission by encouraging students to choose careers in the pulp, paper, packaging, and converting industries through its focus on funding scholarships, supporting the annual Student Summit, and providing assistance to Student Chapters.
