Runtech Systems, Nash and Robuschi at MIAC

Join the MIAC 2022 exhibition in Italy and meet experts from different Ingersoll Rand businesses – Nash, Robuschi and Runtech Systems. The event takes place in Lucca on October 12-14.

Runtech Systems presents fit-for-purpose vacuum system and efficient doctoring and dewatering solutions for forming and drying sections, which are the fundamental base for the good energy efficiency and low cost for paper, board, tissue and pulp production.

Together with Nash, another Ingersoll Rand brand, we are the only company that can supply both liquid ring pumps (LRP) and dry vacuum systems, or a combination of them, for a so-called hybrid system. In addition, Runtech offers doctors and save-alls, making our offering complete for paper machine dewatering. With this unique portfolio, we can always find a perfect fit for our customer’s demands, needs and budget. We can also give you insight about dewatering, cleaning and runnability and tail threading solutions.

Robuschi experts present their wide range of solutions for pulp & paper industry, such as centrifugal pumps, PROMIX series, design for touch applications to convey fluids with contaminants and with high percentages of suspended solid particles.

In addition, with our Robox range: lobe, screw, turbo, multistage and side channel blowers, we are able to guarantee the best solution for your wastewater treatment plant. By reducing energy consumption in any working condition, the Robox range can guarantee lower lifecycle costs and over 75% efficiency across a wide range of configurations.

MIAC Conference – Paperboard session

Runtech will also participate in the MAC Conference with a presentation “Forming and Press section optimization concept – a case study of full improvement package for vacuum system, dewatering and doctoring”. Resource savings and cost competitiveness are driving papermakers to find new and innovative solutions to improve machine efficiency. In every day production, this means e.g. maximized energy efficiency, minimized water usage and continuous effective application of the best practice solutions.

The new forming and press section optimization concept combines variable speed turbo blowers, air flow assisted doctoring and dewatering measurement system with Runtech’s experience in runnability and wet end operation. In typical rebuild projects, 40-60% energy savings have been achieved.

Several successful case stories corroborate the efficiency of the concept. Smurfit Kappa Ania PM2 is a liner/fluting machine with fourdrinier forming section and a Combi press section. Here, the machine optimization included a turbo blower replacing old liquid ring pumps together with save-alls and doctors. Dewatering measurement system was installed to maximize the optimization potential. The new equipment along with a systematic optimization work with vacuums and dewatering resulted in significant reduction in vacuum energy consumption and specific steam consumption as well as water savings.
