Kemira, a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions for water intensive industries, has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with BIM Kemi, an entrepreneurial specialty chemical company, to distribute BIM Kemi’s pulp defoamer products in Brazil. Under this agreement, Kemira will be the sole provider of BIM defoamer and drainage technology to Brazil’s pulp market.
“This partnership with BIM Kemi expands and strengthens our existing product portfolio for the pulp producers and allows us to further support the growing pulp production for tissue, packaging, and other fiber applications. We can provide our customers access to new BIM high-quality technologies and formulations that will help them improve their process performance,” states Paulo Barbosa, Director, Sales, South America for Kemira Pulp & Paper.
South America is the largest and fastest-growing supplier of bleached market pulp globally, and Brazil is the leading producer within the region. Foam control is crucial in pulp production as it enables increased operational efficiency, increases pulp quality, and helps decrease water usage and energy demand of the process.
“Since the start of the company, it has been our mission to develop sustainable solutions for the pulp and paper industry. Over five decades, we’ve successfully introduced new sustainable concepts for customers globally. Our partnership with Kemira now propels us into the Brazilian pulp market, giving us the opportunity to deliver our innovative technology and further advance pulp production in Brazil”, says Anders Rietz, CEO BIM Kemi.
