ANDRITZ to supply TAD tissue machine to Procter & Gamble, Box Elder, Utah mill, USA
International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Procter & Gamble (P&G) to supply a PrimeLineTAD (Through-Air Dried) tissue machine for its Family Care plant in Box Elder, Utah, USA with start-up scheduled for 2024.
The new PrimeLineTAD machine will be supplied with state-of-the-art energy efficient process equipment to meet P&G’s demanding sustainability targets.
ANDRITZ and Procter & Gamble have been strong business partners for many years. In 2007, ANDRITZ supplied and started up a TAD tissue/towel machine at Procter and Gamble’s Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA site that fully met P&G’s expectations. This was followed by another TAD tissue/towel machine at Procter and Gamble’s Box Elder facility, which started up successfully in 2011.
Procter and Gamble, one of the largest manufacturers of premium consumer bath tissues and paper towels in North America, produces the brands of Charmin, Puffs, and Bounty.
Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing orders 5th ANDRITZ shoe press to boost energy efficiency
International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd., Malaysia, for a PrimePress X shoe press at their mill in Banting, Malaysia with start-up is planned for end of 2023.
The newly ordered shoe press will be installed in the PM23 containerboard machine that runs with a design speed of 900 m/min and produces high-quality testliner of basis weights of 110 – 200 gsm. Equipped with an ANDRITZ Impulse grooved shoe press belt, it will replace the conventional first press to boost energy efficiency and dewatering performance. A couple of months ago, ANDRITZ had already received a similar order for Lee & Man’s PM25.
Three PrimePress X shoe presses (PM23, PM25, PM27) installed in 2020, 2021 and 2022 are already in operation. Besides the energy savings, they also offer a significant quality increase.

No wonder that we chose ANDRITZ as partner again to supply two additional ones to further reduce specific energy demand and to further improve the machines’ performance. Established in 1994, Lee & Man Paper manufactures linerboards of various grades and corrugating medium of different specifications used for several industrial packaging purposes. The group runs five paper mills and one pulp mill in China as well as several production bases in Vietnam, Malaysia and other countries.
Visy installs first ANDRITZ FibreFlow Drum pulping system in Australia
Visy Paper will install a FibreFlow Drum pulping system for its recycled paper mill in Coolaroo, Victoria, Australia.
ANDRITZ will deliver a FibreFlow Drum pulper with a maximum feed capacity of 1,400 t/d, various fiber cleaning equipment, and a spray water treatment system for the production of various board grades.
“The drum pulper is the first of its kind in Australia,” says Jean Yves Nouaze, Executive General Manager Pulp & Paper, Visy. “This upgrade will increase our capacity to process up to an additional 95,000 tonnes of wastepaper per year, to be made into new products here in Victoria. We thank ANDRITZ for partnering with Visy and working collaboratively on this critical project.”

The innovative ANDRITZ drum pulping system enables Visy Paper to process a demanding special raw material mix consisting of household wastepaper and Australian OCC (Old Corrugated Containers) with a reject content of up to 25%. The project features the following technological highlights:
- FibreFlow Drum with longer and reinforced design to ensure gentle pulping of the demanding raw material mix and efficient removal of coarse contaminants at minimum fiber loss
- Innovative PrimeScreen X for spray water treatment
- New RB450 cleaner to enable superior removal of glass fragments
