A new way to analyze biomass - Swedish MANTEX exhibits at TAPPICon

In April, the Swedish greentech company Mantex AB visits the USA to market the company’s product Biomass Analyzer. Mantex has developed the Biomass Analyzer, an analysis equipment that, through revolutionary X-ray based technology, determines the accurate moisture content of biomass such as wood chips in less than 2 minutes. The Biomass Analyzer is incredibly easy to operate and easy to integrate with existing ERP systems making it easy to keep track of mass quality.

Easy, quick and accurate measurements in less than 2 minutes:

The Biomass Analyzer was originally developed to be able to measure central properties of biomass in the bioenergy industry, but its ability to accurately determine the moisture content of wood has made it interesting for pulp and paper mills as well.

Mantex CEO Max Gerger

“The American pulp and paper mills and pellet manufacturers handle enormous volumes of wood chips and today use the same manual and slow methods as the bioenergy industry to determine moisture content, including 24-hour oven drying”. says Max Gerger, CEO of Mantex AB.

Mantex will be promoting the Biomass Analyzer at the pulp and paper trade show TAPPICon, in Atlanta on April 22-26. In connection with the fair, Mantex will visit potential customers in the industry to show the opportunities for efficiency gains that the Biomass Analyzer can offer the industry.

Mantex has also developed the analysis equipment FlowScanner, which today is manufactured and distributed via Andritz Technologies, a joint venture between Mantex and Andritz. After very successful field tests in a North American pulp mill, Andritz Technologies has sold several FlowScanners for use in North America as well as Asia and South America.

The Biomass Analyzer is ideal for everyone involved in producing selling delivering and consuming wood based biomass such as wood chips and saw dust

Coming up

Mantex’ R & D work also progresses on adding other analysis to the Biomass Analyzer, including ash and energy content (expected in 2024) plus specific contaminants such as calcium, sulfur and sodium.
